Sid gets cranky about Indy's premature wining she presumably failed her HSC, then fails to realize it's his turn to receive Marilyn's 'last' gift. Romeo ultimately loses patience with Indy's absurd pretense she alone invests in their relationship, hence tells her he failed his exams on purpose so they ca repeat the year together.
He later shows up in Jasmine's bedroom and tries to explain that Christian was a danger to other patients. Jasmine denounces Lewis for his actions and declares that Anna would not think highly of what Lewis has done if she were still alive. Jasmine then reveals that Lewis's attempt to kill Christian has failed, as Christian is still alive and is recovering, causing Lewis to break down emotionally and beg Jasmine to make it all stop.

Home and Away has been sold to over eighty countries around the world, making it one of Australia's most successful media exports. In the UK, it and Neighbours, another Australian soap opera, are the most popular of the genre that are filmed internationally, with them both airing on Channel 5. It is one of the highest-rating shows on RTÉ Television in Ireland and TVNZ 2 in New Zealand. In Australia, Home and Away is the most awarded program at the Logie Awards, with a total of forty-eight wins, including Most Popular Drama Program. Some cast members have won several other awards such as the Gold Logie for Most Popular Personality on Australian Television, Silver Logie for Most Popular Actor, and Most Popular Actress.
Furthermore, on 23 March, the show was removed from Seven's schedule to make way for extended coverage on the pandemic. On 12 May 2020, it was announced that the show would recommence production following the nine-week suspension. Storylines were rewritten to limit close contact between the actors. On 19 July 2021, Home and Away was forced to postpone scheduled filming due to new COVID-19 lockdown restrictions in Sydney.

Melissa visits Harvey and explains she broke up with her boyfriend and she and their daughter need his house to live in. Melissa gets a job at the hospital and she goes out for dinner with Sid Walker , her new colleague. During her shift at the hospital, a life-threatening car accident comes in and Mel states that she cannot face it. She later reveals to Harvey that she is struggling to cope with their son, Ben's, death.
After her visit with Colby Thorne , Lewis brings her a coffee and they decide to spend the afternoon together. As they enter the Summer Bay Surf Club, Kieran Baldivis approaches Jasmine about a job at her gym, but Lewis has to tell him to back off as he is too persistent. As they talk over drinks, Lewis notices Jasmine's wedding ring and she tells him that her husband died last year. He also reveals that his partner Anna died in a car accident.

They begin flirting over lunch and start kissing in the back of Sid's car. When Dex starts to feel like a burden, Lisa talks to him and make him see that he can be useful. Sid tells Lisa that what happened between them was a mistake and it cannot happen again. Sid and Lisa decide to keep their relationship a secret, but Dex notices them together and reveals that Lisa is married. Sid confronts her and she reveals that she is separated from her husband, Neil , but he does stay over at their house occasionally. Sid allows Lisa to continue with Dex's treatment and they start their relationship over in secret.
Younes told TV Week's Erin Miller "There has certainly been someone watching him for few weeks, which you've seen snippets of, and the inference is that it's related to his dad." Kyle eventually reveals that he is Danny Braxton's son. Jett James, played by Will McDonald, made his first screen appearance on 7 May 2012. McDonald told Andrew Mercado of TV Week that he was "stunned" to get the role of Jett.

Lewis attends Christian and Tori's engagement party with Jasmine. When a patient with a head injury is admitted to the hospital later that evening, Lewis stops Christian from performing surgery by pointing out that he was drinking at the party. Christian defends himself and Tori has to stop the pair from arguing. Christian confronts Lewis after the patient dies and demands that he is sacked. Tori later asks Lewis if working with Christian will be a problem, but he assures her that it will not be. On his first day at nursing unit manager, Lewis undermines Christian while treating Marilyn Chambers .
April resigned as bridesmaid, but Charlie takes over and Will's daughter eagerly volunteers as flower girl. Robertson makes clear he's ready to resume his investigation, while everyone keeps claiming innocent ignorance. Amber tells John that Colby is responsible for her brother Jai's death, and she later tells Colby that she will never forgive him for walking away from the car crash. Amber also learns Willow Harris lives and works in the Bay, but is cold towards her. Colby tells Amber that he is sorry, but she should not take out her anger on Dean and Willow, as they did not do anything wrong. Amber finds Willow and asks her to meet up for a drink at Salt, having forgiven her and Dean. Amber leaves with Tane Parata and they spend the night together. Ari ParataNephewsNikau ParataTane Parata, played by Ethan Browne, made his first appearance on 10 February 2020.
All three actors worked with the script writers to make sure the family were authentic. In 2022, Browne earned a nomination for Best Daytime Star at the Inside Soap Awards. Gemma attempts to apologise to John, and they end up talking about their families and Gemma's late husband. Gemma supports Nikau when Bella Nixon has a violent reaction to his romantic advances and self-harms. Ari's brother Tane turns up in the Bay and Gemma has to break up a fight between them. Tane later rents the family a house and Gemma secures a new job at Salt, after her shifts at the Diner are cut.
The Jackeroo Ranch estate in Kenthurst had been used for the exterior sets of the Summer Bay House and Caravan Park since 1988. After both sets were destroyed by a bushfire in December 2002, the caravan park set was moved and filmed at other locations such as the Waratah Park Earth Sanctuary between 2007–09 and the Lane Cove River Tourist Park between 2010 and 2014. A replica of the Summer Bay House was rebuilt in its original location at the Kenthurst estate several years later, with the exception of a grey roof instead of a red one. The caravan park set moved back to the estate after the house was rebuilt, and both exterior sets made their on-screen returns in 2015. The Summer Bay House is the only house to still be seen on screen since the pilot episode. S official Australian Facebook page reached one million likes, becoming the first Australian television show to reach this milestone.
James "Jamie" Sharpe, played by Hugo Johnstone-Burt, made his first screen appearance on 19 October 2012 and departed on 8 March 2013. The character and Johnstone-Burt's casting was revealed on 28 June 2012. The actor revealed "I'm doing a little stint on Home and Away. I'm playing a super-creepy stalker guy." He added that he was working a lot with Ada Nicodemou who plays Leah Patterson-Baker.
